Dr. Siebert has been a member of Verdier Eye Center since 1999. He was born and raised in West Michigan and attended college and medical school at The University of Michigan, graduating summa cum laude and in the top five of his medical school class. After completing a residency in ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, he pursued a fellowship in glaucoma at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Siebert currently holds a clinical professorship at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Siebert specializes in the treatment of glaucoma and cataracts, including their complex medical and surgical management. He has extensive experience with glaucoma surgery including trabeculectomy, tube shunts, and non-penetrating deep sclerectomy. He also performs laser treatment for open and narrow angle glaucoma such as laser iridotomy and selective laser trabeculoplasty. He has expertise with small incision, sutureless cataract surgery as well as complicated situations including trauma and secondary intraocular lens implantation.
Dr. Siebert has published and lectured extensively on the management of glaucoma. He is also involved in the training of ophthalmology residents from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. In addition, he volunteers at a health clinic for low income and uninsured patients. Dr. Siebert is pleased to serve the patients of West Michigan.
